Q. How do I inform the church of a death in my family?
A. Telephone the church 773-737-6369 OR visit the Director’s Studio (formerly TV Studio) while at the Church. Complete the Homegoing Notification/Arrangments Form and drop in Elder Harrell’s box.
Q. Can I have a funeral service in the sanctuary?
A. Yes, based on availability, space, number of expected visitors and family members.
Q. What is the difference between a homegoing service and a memorial service?
A. A homegoing service is a gathering of family and friends with the deceased's body
present. At a memorial service the body is not present.
Q. Can the church provide names of funeral homes to the family?
A. Yes, we can provide the names some funeral homes in the area.
Q. Who selects the minister to do the eulogy?
A. If the family needs a minister to perform the eulogy, Apostle Lathon will select a
member from the Liberty Leadership team to minister.
Q. Who selects the menu and/or location for the repast?
A. The family typically selects the location and menu for the repast. We normally
donate standard items to assist with the preparation of the repast, at the family’s
request.
Q. Does the church have a policy that prohibits cremation?
A. No. The family makes the cremation arrangement with the funeral home.
Funeral Procedures
Homegoing services are designed to meet the needs of the family and every attempt
is made to accommodate the family’s requests. The Front Office, Worship Ministry,
Deacons and Pastor will speak with the family regarding the list of items below. Please
do not finalize your service date and time without initially speaking with the Front Office at Liberty Temple. This will allow the Front Office to check the availability of the Pastor and Church.

to the program maker so that they can stay in
compliance with the policy of Liberty
